Handmade notebooks: Why unique pieces are so special

Why I make unique pieces

I make unique pieces because I believe that not everything has to look the same. It's good to hold something in your hands that doesn't come from a massive production run—but was made by hand, using real materials and real decisions. When I design a notebook, it's not just about pretty colors; it's about creating something that truly suits someone. No two pieces are alike—and that's exactly what makes them special.

The tradition of marbling

Marbling is a fairly old craft—and honestly, that's exactly what I love about it. The technique has been around for centuries, yet every attempt feels new. I work with water, paint, and a touch of randomness. The beauty is that I can't completely control the pattern—and that's precisely what makes it so appealing. It's like a little ritual. I take my time, pour paint, draw lines, observe. And in the end, I create something that no one else has.

Why none of this matters

I think we can sense when something has been made with love. In a time when everything happens so quickly and often looks the same, it's comforting to hold something in your hand that tells a little story. Maybe this book will simply become your to-do list, or maybe a place for ideas you want to make big someday. And that's exactly why I take the time to make each piece by hand. Not perfect—but authentic.
